The (Almost) Real Deal

A new product launch at a national trade show was being planned. We were asked to create an all-new virtual environment representing a poured-concrete commercial building, in which the client’s innovative seismic support systems would be placed and rendered. The result? Beautiful large-format banners prominently displayed in the booth, garnering plenty of attention from the industry.

We were able to achieve very realistic finishes and amazing detail that truly represented the final look and appearance of the product. The biggest challenge was to emulate materials properly — the texture of the metal, the wear and tear on the nuts, the wrapped texture of the cable. It’s relatively easy to make a material appear authentic from a distance, but having it stand up to scrutiny on a micro scale takes time and experience.
